Since time immemorial, God has manifested in many forms in different places to establish Dharmic Order in the Cosmos. Among the radiant auspicious Divine Manifestations, is the ever radiant Divine Mother, Narayani Amma. She emanates affection all around gracefully, worshipful and pleasing. Her quest is to redeem, soothe and comfort Her children and command them along the righteous path to liberation. Love is showered on Her "children" who have the good fortune to be enveloped in Her Bliss.
The sacred Divine forms of Mother Kamakshi at Kanchi, Goddess Meenakshi at Madurai, and Anna Poorni Visalakshi at Kasi, have been protecting the devout for centuries. In the same tradition, in these turbulent times, and in answer to the pious prayer: "Sarva Mangala Maangalyae Sivae Sarvaartha Sadhikae, Saranyae Thrayambakae Gowri Narayani Namosthudhae", the Divine Mother has taken birth as "Sri Narayani Amma" at Malaikodi, near Vellore, in the state of Tamil, Nadu, India. She has since been pouring bliss there from. We stand blessed in Her presence.

"AMMA EMERGES"
To herald a new Divine era, Narayani Amma was born on the 3rd of January, 1976, in the auspicious Dhanur Maasa, with the sacred "Tripundara" Nama adorning his forehead, Sankh (conch) on the left shoulder and Chakra on the right shoulder. He was the second male son of a devout middle class couple, Sri Nandagopal and Srimathi Jyothi, residents of Vellore. From childhood Narayani Amma was spiritually inclined, and his pious presence graced every Bhajan, Yagam, and Spiritual discourse in the neighborhood. Even as a student, spiritual engagements drew him closer than academic work. Day in and day out, Pujas and Bhajans took him into their fold.
As a natural culmination, while travelling in a bus on the 8th of May 1992 his gaze got fixed on a heavenly scene. In a trance he saw the white clad, lotus seated, four armed Divine Mother totally filling the skies, signaling that the time was imminent for the declaration of His Divinity. |

The Glory of Malaikodi
The first revelation of his incarnation as "Amma", the Divine Mother, was to a lady tenant in the house. Then began Her solemn sovereignty at Malaikodi near Vellore. Malaikodi is a sanctified spot, where Siddha Purushas (Sages), Yogis and Yogins were absorbed in meditating the Divine Mother, from times immemorial. In answer to their penance's, Amma has chosen this hallowed, sacred place for Her Righteous reign. |

The Shrine Construction and Growth
Initially, the Mother offered her Benedictions (Holy Blessings) 'Arul Vaaku' from her seat near the 'Ant Hill' mound, close to which is the present office. By Divine will at 6 p.m. on the 13th of September 1993, in the presence of the assembled thousands, a 'Swayambu Lingam' emerged from the earth, as a spontaneous, self willed free revelation, unaided by any human endeavour and unprompted by any ritual or rite. The holy consecration, Maha Kumbabhishekam, of this Swayambu Lingam was performed, as ordained by scriptures with religious fervor on the 9th of January 2000. Now a unique temple for Goddess Narayani is under construction at Malaikodi. The grand artistic structure, complete with towering Vimana, Ardha and Maha Mandapas, is the only one of its kind in the present world. Nearby, under construction is a huge 'Santhi Mandapam' (Auditorium) for the universal prayers. -- |

"Sakthi Amma"
Since birth, 'Amma' (which means Mother) has been an embodiment of pure unalloyed Love for all. Ever since Her declaration, 'Amma' has been like our own mother to all her children, fostering them in Her fond care and leading them in their spiritual journey like a beckoning light. Many worship and beseech Her as their 'Amma' (Mother) 'Sakthi Amma'. Perhaps no name sweeter can please the ear. |

Her Spiritual Pursuits and Precepts
The Mother's Divine Call is: " Pujas are the path finding stick and hand held torch for Man's peace, as he gropes in the dark wilderness of a blind, material civilization". Amma shows the way formulating and conducting Pujas.
The daily schedule of the solemn Nithya Puja is comprised of:
1.) Ganesha Puja
2.) Sri Narayani Yagnam
3.) Tucasi Puja
4.) Gow Puja
5.) Narayani Puja
6.) Swayambu Puja
The Narayani Puja lasts for almost 3 hours and one wishes that all mortal beings could witness this sacred ceremony. Performed with 16 types of Abhiseka (sacred bathing materials) and 26 types of upacharas (respectful worships and invocations), this grand puja is for the benefit of all beings on earth. Witnessing these pujas by Amma and partaking of Abhisheka Thirtha (Holy Water) from her hallowed hands, would relieve one from all distressing physical ailments and evil propensities . All participants in the memorable pujas are served with a feast of 'Anna Dhanam' (offerings of food).
By 3 p.m., starts the personal Darshan (meeting) of Amma . Amma dispenses the holy "Tirtham" (water) sanctified by the pujas to all those assembled. It is the moment of a lifetime one waits for. As one pours out his heart, Amma listens with rapt attention, confirming Her Grace which dispels all doubts and fears from ones mind and fills it with confidence and hope. The sacred "Kunkumam" (Vermillion powder offering to the Divine Mother) is given as "Prasadam" from Her hands.
By 6 p.m., the Sri Narayani Puja continues. Thereafter one can have Darshan of Amma again, ending the day in total bliss.

Special Pujas
Apart from such Nithya Pujas every Friday, the Divine Mother idol has a sacred bath with sanctified water pouring from 108 auspicious Valampuri Conche (right side opening) . On every Full Moon Day (Pournami), a grand Sri Narayani Yagam is performed by Amma Herself, for the benefit of all humanity. A collection of 108 types of herbal sticks, 108 types of sweet and savory eatables, baskets of flowers and fruits and 21 types of auspicious materials are offered in this Yagam, which one may not be likely to witness anywhere else on earth. Amma has said that, " One who participates in 3 such Yagams in succession is assured of freedom from earthly woes". These apart, Deepa Pujas celebrated with oil lit artistic brass lamps in rows, Milk Abhishekam from 108 pots and the auspicious "Sumangali" pujas to those married and blessed with Maangalyae, electrify the atmosphere and charge the "Peedam" with abundant and abiding Divinity.

AMMA'S Grace on Society
Apart from uplifting the spirituality of one's life, Amma's attention and blessings also benefit the welfare of society.
In 1994, with the blessings and in the presence of His Holiness Sri Sankaracharya of Kanchi, Amma set up a "Goshala" (Cows Maintenance and Protection Centre) in the Peedam premises. The milk produced from this dairy farm is distributed free to the poor and needy everyday.
Free education is offered to poor children at the OM Sakthi Narayani Primary School. A medical clinic, with a full-time doctor, which provides immediate medical care for the community, is scheduled to be operational within the next few months.
On all special puja days, Annadhanam, Vastre (Clothing) Dhanam, Gow Dhaman (Gift of the Milk Cows), Astra, Sastra Dhanam (Gift of Tools for fruitful work) etc. are regular features in the Peedam.
Her most recent undertaking have been to renovate old temples in the neighboring districts. This effort has been hailed as a progressive step, and a wonderful motivation, to the Spiritual Renaissance in India. To date, a total of 250 temples have been adopted under this program. Some receive donations for renovations, while some receive donations for general maintenance
Using state of the art technology, Amma is planning to establish an orphanage, homes for the aged, full time service hospital together with Medical and Engineering Colleges, and a primary and secondary school. Many more humanitarian and spiritual endeavors are being envisaged through Her devotees around the world.
